January 2009 Slider Eating Contest!
Boomer's Sweet Home Chicago held their first annual Second City SliderTM eating Contest on January 31st, 2009 at the 59th Ave and Bell Rd location.

Ready - Set - Eat at 3PM:
The DJ counted down the contest start, with Sweet Home Chicago's beat blasting in the background. Second CIty SlidersTM began to disapear.
As the count-down reached 30 seconds the DJ switched to the Theme from Rocky and contestants worked even harder in the winning stretch.
David E. Leonard, Jr. (at left) was the winner with 11 Second CIty SlidersTM eaten in just five minutes.
It was a very close contest with the difference between first and second place, just ½ a slider. The entrants; David E. Leonard, Jr., Katheryn Nomtz, JJ Nomtz, James Harnes, Nick Johnson, Casey Hesselgrave and Mark Murray
The Prizes:
The winner was awarded the Boomer's First Annual Second City SliderTM trophy. Each participant was given a Boomer's Sweet Home Chicago T-shirt.
